Pleated Purses

I have been making lots of purses lately.
I made a pile of these pleated fabric and suede purses
while I was on holiday at the beach.
I added a suede and fabric strap to carry them with.
The Dr's aunt gifted me a bag of colourful zippers and
I used fabric and suede from my stash, and lined them all with
thrifted vintage sheet fabric.

I've been using one as a little clutch purse when going out.

The others are gifts.
They are a nice way to use some of the fabrics I love and also to use suede,
which I'm really enjoying working with in my latest projects.

They are reasonable quick to make and I obviously got a little carried away.
I used a patten from this book, with a few tweaks of my own.

See here and here for some other purses I've made.

  9. I love the variety of fabrics that you used- it makes them really special. Was the suede difficult to work with?
